At The Furniture Nurse, I curate and refinish furniture and homeware that carry stories. Each piece is carefully restored or lightly repurposed, preserving its character and charm. My collection celebrates craftsmanship, subtle drama, and the quiet beauty of age.

I have always been interested in interior design and antiques and vintage homeware, and found that these pursuits helped me find some balance from the challenges of nursing. My background in nursing has shaped how I work with furniture and the vintage and antique pieces I sell. Patience, restraint and respect for what already exists. Restoration, to me, is an act of care rather than transformation. I restore or refinish with restraint, choosing preservation over reinvention, and intervene only when it serves the piece.

Over the past few years I have collected many treasures for my own home and although my tastes have changed a little, my interest in this pursuit hasn’t and I love the stories that old pieces tell us. Most of the items I sell have had a previous life but I do look for pieces that have been lovingly cared for.
