A quintessential piece of Irish design history. This beautiful Belleek shell dish showcases the iconic nacreous sheen that has made Irish Parian China so famous. This isn’t your standard porcelain, this is remarkably thin and translucent with an ethereal glass like quality that catches the light beautifully. Painted with the signature green shamrocks, it’s a classic example of Belleek’s traditional aesthetic. It has the authentic ‘Third Period’ black mark (1926-1946). Perfectly sized for a vanity or bedside table to hold rings, earrings or other precious trinkets. Could be displayed just about anywhere.

Very pretty pierced antique bon-bon dish. In the late Victorian and Edwardian eras these were often used to serve small treats at the table such as Bon-bons, candied fruits, nuts or small pastries. The pierced gallery around the sides was a very popular decorative style that made the dish look lighter and more elegant. This particular dish was made in London by the Alex R Clark Company which was a very reputable firm based in both London and Sheffield and they were known for their high-quality silver plate. This was their ‘Welbeck’ plate, a top tier silver plate often used in hotels and high-end homes. This would therefore be dated around 1910-1920. It is in good antique condition with normal signs of wear (please see photos of the inside). I have removed all the tarnish and polished it.

The Arts and Crafts movement, born in response to Victorian-era industrialization, championed traditional craftsmanship and handmade beauty. Led by artists and designers, such as Morris and Mackintosh, the movement emphasized simplicity, quality, and authenticity in design. Rejecting mass-produced goods, it promoted individual craftsmen's values and natural materials.
And this piece has been restyled with similar care and meticulous attention to detail; every aspect of this chest has been thoughtfully considered. From the gentle wash that highlights the natural wood grain to the meticulous oiling and waxing for a flawless finish, it radiates a sense of refined craftsmanship.
But what truly sets this chest apart and brings it bang up to date is hidden from view. Just open one of the drawers to find they have been lined with a vibrant paper adorned with irises in soft oranges, greens, and purples. This unexpected touch adds a touch of floral charm, a sense of whimsy, and personality, elevating it from the ordinary to the extraordinary.
Versatile and adaptable, this chest serves as the perfect backdrop for showcasing something a little more flamboyant. Its understated design allows for the spotlight to shine on your favourite decorative pieces, making it an ideal addition to any decor scheme.

This is a lovely vintage cup and saucer from Quimper and these pieces are very collectible. It is in great vintage condition and can be used as an everyday item or simply as a display piece. Faience pottery developed from the 17th century onwards in Quimper's Locmaria quarter. Inspired by Breton culture, faience-making reached its peak in the 19th century, with a unique manufacturing process. Soon there would be competition from new arrivals on this profitable and popular market. In the early 20th century, three big names were known all over France: La Grande Maison de la Hubaudière, Porquier-Beau and Henriot. I am unable to date this item but from research it was likely to be from the 1950's/60's Quimper cup and saucer 13.5cm saucer Cup 9cm across
