Vintage Johnson Brothers Indian Tree Jug | 1930s Large Water Pitcher
A gorgeous vintage solid ironstone water jug/pitcher by the renowned Staffordshire makers, Johnson Brothers, decorated in the timeless and highly sought-after "Indian Tree" pattern.
Dating from the early to mid-20th century (circa 1920s-1930s), this classic piece features a beautifully vibrant, hand-painted transfer design of stylized crooked branches, blooming peonies, and exotic green foliage. The design is elegantly framed by a geometric oriental fretwork border around the rim and detailing down the handle.
An incredibly versatile and decorative piece that looks very stylish holding a fresh bunch of garden flowers or serving drinks at a country-style dining table.
Excellent vintage condition. The colors are wonderfully bright and crisp with a lovely shiny glaze. Free from chips, cracks, or structural restoration. Light, age-appropriate wear to the base as expected for a genuine period piece. There is a slight blemish on the front (see photos), likely caused during the process of making it)
Dimensions: 15cms height, 10cms wide, 40cms circumference.
