Add a touch of early 20th-century sophistication to your desk or dresser with this handsome antique State Express Cigarette Box.
Manufactured by the Ardath Tobacco Co. in London, England, this charming "bow-front" desk box has an elegant neoclassical design, complete with an embossed beaded oval and delicate garland detailing. The brand name "State Express" was famously inspired by the founder's fascination with the record-breaking New York Empire State Express steam locomotive, giving this British antique a fantastic transatlantic backstory.
This box is made of a solid silver-toned metal (likely nickel silver or silver-plated brass). It is light in weight and has a nice tactile feel to it.
Age: Circa 1900–1920 (Edwardian / Early Art Deco period)
Origin: London, England (Ardath Tobacco Co.)
Design: Curved bow-front with embossed neoclassical garland motifs
Condition: Fair antique condition with a rich, natural dark patina. Please note: the original interior cedar wood lining is missing, and there is a slight, age-related warp to the back metal panel near the hinge. However, the hinge is completely stable, and the lid closes well and securely.
Because the interior is purely metal, it is incredibly versatile—making it a perfect catch-all for keys, a luxury business card holder, or a unique valet box for jewellery and watches or somewhere to keep your collection of guitar picks.
A beautiful, high-character piece of tobacciana history left unpolished so you can choose to keep its antique patina or buff it to a bright silver shine!

A quintessential piece of Irish design history. This beautiful Belleek shell dish showcases the iconic nacreous sheen that has made Irish Parian China so famous. This isn’t your standard porcelain, this is remarkably thin and translucent with an ethereal glass like quality that catches the light beautifully. Painted with the signature green shamrocks, it’s a classic example of Belleek’s traditional aesthetic. It has the authentic ‘Third Period’ black mark (1926-1946). Perfectly sized for a vanity or bedside table to hold rings, earrings or other precious trinkets. Could be displayed just about anywhere.
This dish is in pristine vintage condition, with no chips, cracks or crazing. In remarkable condition for it’s age.

Very pretty pierced antique bon-bon dish. In the late Victorian and Edwardian eras these were often used to serve small treats at the table such as Bon-bons, candied fruits, nuts or small pastries. The pierced gallery around the sides was a very popular decorative style that made the dish look lighter and more elegant. This particular dish was made in London by the Alex R Clark Company which was a very reputable firm based in both London and Sheffield and they were known for their high-quality silver plate. This was their ‘Welbeck’ plate, a top tier silver plate often used in hotels and high-end homes. This would therefore be dated around 1910-1920. It is in good antique condition with normal signs of wear (please see photos of the inside). I have removed all the tarnish and polished it.

A splendid piece of Vanity Decor. This is a 1950’s Ormolu trinket box crafted with intricate gold tone filigree metalwork. Cute little mid-century hand-painted trinket dish. Fine Bone china. Unclear if this is Portmeirion or Herend but it is stamped with ‘fine bone china’ on the bottom.
