Sold Out

A beautifully unique and characterful wooden egg box dating to1943, designed to sit proudly on a kitchen countertop or simply as a decorative piece on a kitchen shelf. Featuring a charming farmyard scene with hens and chicks, this piece has developed a warm, honest patina over time that only decades of use can bring. The hinged lid opens smoothly, making it both practical and decorative. It will house 12 eggs.

On the inside of the door there are illustrations of advertisements from the time and the back shows a newspaper account of when the allied forces invaded Italy on July the 10th 1943. The front of the door has a delightful scene of hens and chicks in soft colours, gently worn over time.

I have restored this item by cleaning and applying wax so it should last another 80 years!
